Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one year older today.

This edition features actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has made films such as Taal, Devdas, Khakee, Guru and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil among others to her credit.

The songs, delightful dance numbers and chitter chatters between the lovers Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) and Sameer (Salman Khan) ensure an easy first half. However, the second half will be difficult with Vanraj (Ajay) joining. Towards the end it gets too sentimental when Salman, Aishwarya and Ajay get caught in a love triangle. But if you love watching romantic tragedies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is the perfect choice.

The romantic music drama from 1999 with a love triangle between Mansi (Aishwarya Rai), Manav (Akshaye Khanna) and Vikrant (Anil Kapoor) is staged by Subhash Ghai. Aishwarya nails her part as a simple girl from Himachal Pradesh who decides to make it big after her father is insulted by her lover's family. Anil Kapoor also plays his role as a street smart music composer. AR Rahman's music is the icing on the cake.

Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan play siblings in the hit 2000 hit Josh, directed by Mansoor Khan. Set in a town called Vasco, Goa, the film revolves around two rival street gangs, Eagles under the direction of SRK's Max and Bichoo under Sharad Kapoor's Prakash Sharma. Prakash's younger brother Rahul (Chandrachur Singh) falls in love with Max ‘twin sister Shirley (Aishwarya), which leads to a deadly fight between the two gangs. Check out the movie for action-packed masala entertainment.

Aditya Chopra's direction is full of romance, delightful locations, pretty costumes as well as song and dance sequences. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Kim Sharma, Jimmy Sheirgill, Anupam kher and Archana Puran Singh among others. The romantic drama with good music is a simple watch for any Bollywood fan.

In a film adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel of the same name, Devdas star Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit. Devdas (Shah Rukh) cannot marry his childhood love Paro (Aishwarya) because his family is resisting. He takes alcohol and finds a way out in the courtesan Chandramukhi (Madhuri). The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is still popular to this day for exemplary performances and great dance and song sequences.

Rajkumar Santoshi's cop film is a well-made film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay kumar, Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai, Prakash Raj and Tusshar Kapoor in major roles. Big B dominates Khakee with his "honest Senior Officer of the Law" act, and Akshay's comical timing prevents the film from being just another cop drama. But it is Aishwarya's deceptive character Mahalakshmi who is the real surprise in action drama.

The film Rituparno Ghosh captures the pain and longing when former lovers Mannu and Neeru, played by Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, meet in Calcutta on a rainy day. The film, which takes place entirely in one house, shows its leading role in roles never seen before.

Dhoom 2

The second episode of the Dhoom series shows Hrithik Roshan as a master of disguise and as a thief. Abhishek Bachchan returns in his role as a police officer and Uday Chopra is promoted to police inspector by a goofy racing cyclist. Her team includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is both a thief and an undercover agent. Just like the first film in the series, Dhoom 2 is a fun entertainer.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Guru Abhishek Bachchan plays Gurukant Desai, an aspiring businessman who aims to play a major role in the textile business. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays his devoted wife Sujata, who is at his side when the world turns its back on him. The film also stars R Madhavan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty in key roles.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gives a heartbreaking performance as a victim of domestic violence in the biographical drama Provoked. Jag Mundhra is directed based on the true story of a Punjabi woman, Kiranjit Ahluwalia, who killed her abusive husband in the UK and subsequently led a lawsuit for freedom from imprisonment. It also features Naveen Andrews, Miranda Richardson, Robbie Coltrane, Nandita Das and others.

Jodhaa Akbar

In Ashutosh Gowariker's Magnum Opus, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan impresses with her portrayal of the Rajput princess Jodhaa Bai. In the film, Hrithik Roshan plays the role of the Mughal emperor Jalalud-din Muhammad Akbar.

The direction by Sanjay Leela Bhansali deals with the subject of euthanasia. Hrithik Roshan plays a talented Goan magician, Ethan Mascarenhas, who is seriously injured when a trick he performs on stage goes horribly wrong. The next few years are spent in a wheelchair and looked after by a nurse (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).

The Omung Kumar film Sarbjit is based on the real-life story of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who languished in a Pakistani prison for 23 years while his sister Dalbir Kaur tirelessly fought for her brother's release. Randeep Hooda plays the title role while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays his sister Dalbir. Richa Chadha plays the role of Sarbjit's wife Sukhpreet Kaur.

Ae dil hai Mushkil

Directed, produced and written by Karan Johar, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil stars Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Fawad Khan. It is the story of Ayan (Ranbir) and Alizeh (Anushka) who meet by chance and become friends. Ayan falls in love with Alizeh, but she feels differently about their relationship. To overcome his heartbreak, Ayan enters into a relationship with the poet Saba (Aishwarya). From here on it goes downhill. But you can see the movie for its music and good looking people.
