Elective subjects for the acquisition of the general university entrance qualification

In the current school year, Italian, French and Spanish are offered as elective subjects at our school. These compulsory elective subjects are aimed at pupils who are aiming for the general university entrance qualification and need a second foreign language for this.

According to ยง 38 FOBOSO, pupils of grade 13 or applicants with the certificate of the subject-related higher education entrance qualification of the vocational college can by proving the necessary knowledge in a second foreign language the General University Entrance Qualification acquire.

Sufficient knowledge of the languages French, Latin, Italian, Russian or Spanish can be verified as follows:

  • Lessons at previously attended schools or
  • Elective courses in grades 12 and 13 at the vocational high school or
  • Taking the supplementary examination at the vocational high school or
  • Acquisition of a school certificate at the same level as part of vocational training or
  • a certificate recognized as equivalent by the State Ministry.

Without proof of a second foreign language, the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification can be acquired after successfully passing the 13th grade.
