Travel tips 2021: The best gadgets for the next road trip in a van or motorhome

Imagine you want to treat yourself to a nice evening of relaxation or just park at a campsite because it's raining and you don't feel like driving for the rest of the day. Many activities are dropped in bad weather. So your mobile devices are proving to be extremely helpful and pleasant. Let's take a look at some of the highlights.

Smartphones: You will have at least one with you. While reception won't be great everywhere in the great outdoors, it should be good in most places these days. Even if you don't have WiFi available, you can use your mobile data to access a lot of content, listen to podcasts, chat and so on. You might be on a road trip, but you don't have to miss out on the latest topics and you can even use the time to learn new things and keep up your education.

Bluetooth-Speaker: Seamless coupling with your smartphone and playlists for almost endless audio entertainment. Play your favorite playlists in the camper or at a barbecue evening with other campers or simply let yourself be showered with track lists while driving. There is nothing like good music when you see different places passing by while you are driving. Good to know: high quality portable projectors are equipped with Bluetooth speakers that work twice as efficiently.

Laptops and tablets: Most organized campsites and rest areas now have WiFi. So if you park in one of these spaces, you can use a tablet or laptop to stream as many films and series or just watch YouTube as you like. In this way you make yourself independent of the local conditions.

Even better if you're in the road trip preparation phase: Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube all offer download options for offline use when WiFi is not available.

Kindle etc.: E-readers prove themselves for bookworms on long journeys. Especially on vacation, many only really find the time to sit down comfortably and read. We recommend Kindle and other e-readers so that you don't have to lug around different books or have to commit to certain copies in advance.
